Prof. Tahseen Qureshi Joins the Faculty of the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS)                                                             

 

Today, the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS) announced a new robotic colorectal surgeon has joined the EARCS faculty:

Prof. Qureshi is a Consultant Laparoscopic and General Surgeon at Poole Hospital in the UK. He is an experienced Consultant Surgeon, with a recognised expertise for the latest techniques in laparoscopic surgery. He specialises in minimally invasive surgery for bowel cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, hernias and gall stones, amongst other conditions. He is the first General Surgeon in Dorset and one of the first in the South of England trained in Robotic Surgery for these procedures. 

Prof. Qureshi has also been appointed as a national laparoscopic trainer, teaching other consultant surgeons in the UK how to perform keyhole surgery for bowel cancer. He has supervised the successful introduction of an enhanced recovery programme to Poole Hospital, which has won national recognition and awards.

Currently, the EARCS faculty consists of 25 expert robotic colorectal surgeons from 10 European countries, as well as an anatomy expert.
