Mr. Irshad Shaikh Joins the Faculty of the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS)
Today, the European Academy of Robotic Colorectal Surgery (EARCS) announced a new robotic colorectal surgeon has joined the EARCS faculty:
Mr. Shaikh is a general surgeon specialising in colorectal surgery at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) in the UK. He trained in Scotland, Southeast Thames rotation for higher surgical training and with an RSO fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital in London. He then completed his laparoscopic fellowship at St Mark’s Hospital and training in locally advanced rectal cancers including pelvic exenterations. He was appointed at NNUH in 2014 as a consultant general and colorectal surgeon where he currently leads advanced rectal cancer surgery and jointly lead anal cancer surgery. He holds an honorary consultant surgeon appointment at St Mark’s Hospital. He is also a European board certified coloproctologist and appointed as honorary senior lecturer at the University of East Anglia.

Currently, the EARCS faculty consists of 26 expert robotic colorectal surgeons from 10 European countries, as well as an anatomy expert.
